Default Loudest Spl from a tc?

Whats the most db hit so far by someone in a tc? I hit 138.8 with my w3 and alpine mrd 301 amp in a prefab audio enhancers box. Now im rocking a 12inch l7 and a jl 500/1 and a kicker custom designed box. Im hoping for 143 or 144. My old car hit 142 and this is way louder than it. what has everyone else here hit thus far?

It was nothing like a normal "loud" car.

I sat in a truck w/ 8 8"s doing a 140 at 45Hz about 5 minutes later...that was a lot louder...

17Hz...it's just kinda...there...pressing on you...and it doesn't hurt your ears

Oh, I know it won't hurt your ears, at that freq...you feel it. I just wondered if you felt the urge to go number 2 at that freq and db level.

More like pushed it harder than my friend(the owner) ever did. He powers it on around 200W...I had it on 1.8kW

More than likely it was just glue...but since it was a one of a kind sub...non-fixable...I just decided I didn't want to buy him something else

^^ nothing like that innard shaking 17hz vibration!

In our senior design class in undergrad my buddy built a servo driven 15 with a circuit that monitored cone position against input signal for auto correction... He cracked the mount for the servos so he was only running 2 out of the normal 3 to push it when we brought in the spl meter and still hit 149 dB with one 15 at 40 hZ and 156 at the port. It was great watching the ceiling tiles in our EE lab dancing out of the tchannels I cant remember the model of cone he used, but he bought it without the voice coil from the manufacturer and attached the rack and drive mounting to it. It was killer to see that thing run! Even better, as long as the amp could keep up, you just changed the gear ratio to add or reduce output. But.. it wouldnt quite fit in a vehicle..

Well, I didn't know until mythbusters that a certain freq/beat can make you crap yourself. I did know a certain beat can make you sick and vomit. There was a band in the mid 80's from California I recall, called "Vomit Launch" who's main thing was producing that same beat during live shows to induce their crowd to puke. They say it's like a standing ovation, but better! Yeah, sounded like a blast to me. For some reason....never caught their show.

Are all of you into SPL/dB contests? I don't have a system in the tC yet, but in my old car I used to hit 136dB (2x10"w/140w on each in stereo mode), and just don't see a need for anything more if you're not going to compete.

Not really into SPL but putting an 18" sub in your tC in a 10 cube box with an 1800 watt amp makes it loud when you're bored

I'd just post the image...but it's huge.

I hit 139.0 with a 12" Image Dynamics IDMAX powered with a 1000Watt power bd1000.1 (rockford fosgate), but the others who had competed before, as well as the owner of the db meter said it was consistantly registering 7db low.

So according to them, i actually was hitting 146.0 db (whatever, all i know is that it's pretty darn loud for 1 12" and it still has GREAT SQ too)

LOL that does sound familiar.. I know that the band TAD tried to do the same thing a few times as well I have heard of different experiments concerning that phenomena. I mean.. if you can make someone crap themself or spew in the name of science.... heh heh

And I have to admit mythbusters is one of my favorite shows
