Yeah. I kinda wanted to avoid bleeding after all the horrible back trouble this gave me. ...although the blood would've meshed well with all the red colored wire I have.

Chris, you've GOT to have something cooked up in the form of a groupbuy with those components. That would make my day. Or...you could just buy me a set of 6500s for my birthday in August.

Very ironic case of irony there, Mr. Irony Irons.

I'd hug you, but I'm afraid your mustache will beat me up. Next pay day and/or after I pay off my other bills, you'll have my moneys. =DDD

This weekend, I'll probably be cutting out that rear driver's panel so I can secure my enclosure.

My birthday is coming up on August 4th. So I expect you guys to flood my email inbox with money through Paypal. I'm thinking with my birthday money (er...after I renew my car insurance), I'm gonna pick up those 6500s. That setup is gonna be fun. Gonna eDead the doors and clean up the wiring, and I still have to figure out how I'm gonna fab something up to cover all that wiring in the styrofoam and mount the crossovers on top of all that. =D

The enclosure is now secure =D

That's the 9kv.2 (D2) there. Perfect fit!

There's a bit of a gap on the top there. It's not too big of a deal to me, IMO. But it's really only noticeable when you stare blankly into it.

The subwoofer section of my adventures is now complete. Yay!

There's a few rattles on the rear passenger side of the body. I was able to pinpoint it to the rear near the right-side taillight. I'm probably gonna re-deaden that back corner when the weather gets a bit better. Here's to hoping I get some good birthday money. =D

Maybe I didn't cut a big enough piece out of the rear panel? I left some of that grey padding stuff from when I cut it out and then I just pushed it back out of the way of the enclosure.

I'll do a bit of tweaking tomorrow. But honestly, it's not too big of a deal to me. If it does end up bothering me to the point of WTFWHYOMG, then I'll let you know. =D

As stated earlier, I'm not really a car audio enthusiast, so what may seem to other people as bandwagon-jumping, I saw as an opportunity to try out something that looked well-constructed and something with an awesome value. It helps to have someone like Chris here who deals with the products first-hand everyday and can tell you straight up that his product may or may not be what you're looking for.

I don't expect to win any SPL competitions with my setup. I just wanted an improvement over stock. And I'm sure that when I buy and install the 6500 components, I'll have my goal achieved.

Am I happy with the quality of the sub and amp? For the value, god yes (Group Buy = winnar!) But again, I didn't build my setup looking to win sound competitions. I've never dealt with JL Audio stuff before, so I don't know how they'd compare with each other.

might need another mounting location for that amp if it gets hot. Not enough airflow. But if you don't have any problems, then that's a good place to put it

It's pretty hot in there. So far I haven't had any problems or malfunctions. Plans are in the works to connect a fan or two in there. Just gotta put aside some time to do it. :D

I have my carpc in the same compartment. i've got overheating issues a few times. so I got two computer fans, cut two holes on the mat and set one fan to blow air in and the other to remove the heat. It works like a charm apart from the extra noise.

After I type this post, I'm gonna go ahead and order those 6500s along with some baffles. Hope to have that installed by the end of the month or sooner.

HOWEVERRRRRR, I've finally come to a couple roadblocks in my completion quest.

First: It does get pretty hot down there in the spare compartment where my amp is secured. I have some beefy CPU fans that I would like to put in, but I'm not sure how to wire them. Can I just hook the fan's power wire to the amp and find a ground somewhere? How have some of you guys done it?

Second: I want to cover the compartment up with some material to hide all the extra holes/speaker wires/etc. What do you guys suggest? Vinyl or carpet? Where would you go about ordering that stuff?

Yay 6500s.

As for the fans, I'd run a separate 12V line to them as they may induce some whining.

I just ordered them! =D Ordered them along with some baffles for the front doors. Can't wait to get these put in!

Wasn't really looking forward to running another 12v line to get those fans up and running, but if there will be problems just splicing them into the current leads I have, then so be it. Darn my wanting to get it all nice and pretty so I won't ever have to do it again. haha

Well, you CAN just splice in...and I did in my first install...but I had hellish whining in my speakers(might have been the fact that I grounded to the tail light.....)

The 6500s should be on their way to my house now while I'm here at work! Yay!

I was thinking of just splicing the +lead of the fans into the remote turn-on wire of the amp, so it'll turn on when the headunit is on. Will that work, or will I have to still find power?

Just out of curiosity (sorry it's a little off topic at this point) but how much weight does the eDeading stuff add to the car?
