Default Modifications necessary to install Eclipse AVN

What will I need to do to install the Eclipse AVN5495 Head unit into my Scion tC? I would like the radio door to be able to close while the hu is installed.

sorry I made a typo. It is the AVN7000 head unit.

when i got mine installed from a friend, he had to drill holes somewhere in the back so that the unit can fit cleanly. that and i had to buy the two side brackets from the scion dealership so that the gaps were filled. the parts were for a camrey or corolla i believe.

sorry for the lack of information. i'm sure somebody will respond, try a quick search on it?

I read a few articles, but I'm still kinda lost. If Circuit City would install it, do you think they would do a good job?

Hell no. Go to good local audio shops, not Best Buy, CC, or the equivalent.

Most people have a CarToys or a CustomSounds near htem.

I live in a small town of <100,000 people. There are no automotive shops. There is an audio shop, but I'm not sure if they do that kind of thing. I think they are mostly speakers. They're privately owned, I'll have to check it out.

My friends father owns a car dealership--Toyota, actually. I'll see if I can get them to install it for me. No charge, maybe?

that might just change my mind from the AVN7000. Does anyone know about this one? I'm not sure I'll be able to close the radio door with the flip up monitor. yellowxboy, are you the person that painted their center console metallic black?

Oh, that's pretty much what I'm gettin it for is the MP3 player. Any other recommendations for a good Touch screen with a good MP3 player and good Nav?

You love the way the AVN5435 looks or the AVN7000? I want to put in the AVN7000, but I might have to put the 5435 in instead.
