mounting amps
where is everyone mounting there amps? i had them mounted on the back of the seats before, but i didn't really like that location. mounting them underneath the trunk piece would be ideal, but i need to keep the spare tire. the other issue is that i'd like to keep some room in the trunk. at this point, i'm looking into building a rack that would go side to side in the trunk, right in back of the seat. it'd basically be a 2in piece of carpeted plywood(42" across, 15" high), and then mounted with L-brackets to the side and floor. i'd put 2 amps on it, and the capacitor in the middle. the only problems i'm having with doing it is that i guess i'd have to cut out 2 sections of it right near each amp in order to run wires thru, and also, with an enclosure like the quarterwave, the right side has to be an inch or 2 shorter to accomodate the enclosure. so far this and the quarterwave enclosure is the only setup i can think of that'd still allow me to keep some kind of space in the trunk, and looks good. anyone else have any other suggestions or did a diff setup?

i like that setup alot, but i'd be stuck with where to put the other amp. i'm gonna be using 2 infinity reference amps-the 7541 to power the front and rear components, and the 611a to power the subwoofer. mounting them on the rear seat worked fine, but looks like a rats ___. also, i'm getting the quarterwave enclosure to fit in that spot.

Take off the rear speaker trims-- there's a cavern in there. You can fab up a bracket to mount one amp on each side, and not even have to get in the trunk. Lots of folks have put their amps in there.

that's where i had mine mounted before, but it's not enough room for 2 amps and a capacitor, which is why i'm trying to figure out what other ways to do it. i'm gonna just end up building a custom rack and put the amps and cap all on it.
