So this was my weeked.

Friday, put the car on jack stands, take all the wheels off, paint the calipers when finished priming interior parts, and put the wheels back on 2 hour later (took 3 hours total to jack, clean, paint.

Sat morning, paint interior parts, get ____ed off b/c the ####ty paint peeled , sand it all off, get better paint from michael's, repaint sand, paint some more then eventually clear coat at night.

sunday morning, put it all back together, wash the car and go for a drive. onjoy the work you have done.

sunday night, grab a beer and have a bon fire :innocent:

OMG what did u do to the interior!!! IMO it looks poorly done.

 

not feelin the interior at all. looks cheap and the colors clash.

 

What the hell did you do to yer interior? Might have been not as bad if it were just Red.... but Red and Purple???? Sorry bro but you just ruined your car IMO.

n e ways you guys need to watch more invader zim.... and the purple is the dark purple you see in the last pix. my camera just sucks.

it's the 1st try in doing anything like this, it works for the concept im going for and will most likely be redone with more detail and better look. that and the simple fact the 1st type of pain i used ____ed part of it up and i don't have the tools to make it look smooth, trust me. it would have looked a lot worse.

Prep work is the biggest factor in if a paint job looks good or not. I am guessing you did no or very little prep work and expected it to turn out halfway good. Maybe this will teach you and others that view this thread that you need to prep the parts and take your time doing anything like this. The calipers look ok (I like the look of smooth calipers instead of the way they look stock with all of the casting marks) but the interior paint needs to be completely redone.

 

The color and quality of the paint in your interior is terrible. What were you thinking??

actually i did a ton of prep work. i've been workin on this for 2 weekends now... what screwed me was the 1st paint i used.

i cleaned, sanded, primed sanded primed sanded ect. then i painted. the paint looked like crap so i had to sand it out, wich was a _____ and it screwed a lot up.

in a few weeks im going to sand it all back down to the black under the silver again, make it perfectly smoothe and repaint with some better paint. yes i know the center looks like crap. and it all could have been better.. BUT this is the 1st attempt for this, i have never painted anything like this befor and to tell you the truth it came out good for all the ____ ups i had with it.

main lesson learned... don't repain when ____ed off at the paint you just tore off...

but next time i paint it i will have better paint. actually probobly a spray dye for plastics.

live, learn, recreate. but it works for now.

 

maybe if you would have used a darker more pearlescent purple without the red or the red without the purple it would have been ok but anyways its your car so whatever.

Hmmm..... nothing else really red or purple on the whole car... if your exterior had a full red/purple paint job, you "Might" be able to pull off those colors on the interior... outside of that... there is a big clash effect with the rest of the interior...

but, you are consistently going to get less that acceptable results without using a professional setup... spray paint on interior plastic, even the krylon fusion stuff just does not cut it...

Check out the interior paint thread to see some of the other setups.. including mine, to see the differences... Honey0Bucket just did some more interior painting in his xB which contrasts the interior, but matches the exterior and that pulled it off.
