Im looking for a good Head Unit. I want a single DIN (for now at least) and dont really care for HD radio, ipod crap, pandora or any bells and whistles. Im just going to use the aux port and play off of my phone and maybe a few CDs.

I want a single DIN
I want high RMS output. 18 volts or more
I want at least 6 preamp outputs. front back and sub obviously. (do they make more?)
I want preamp voltage to be high as well. 4 volts or more.

Those are my only really parameters. I dont care about display much or colors.
This will be the start of my system build.

I found this Alpine CDE-123 which has everything that I want for only 170ish.

The decks that are between 200 and 300$ usually have upgrades in areas that I dont care about like HD radio but still have the same sound quality as the Alpine CDE-123.

If there is a better or cheaper deck that meets my wants please let me know.
My budget for the HU is less than 350.

I would prefer it other that alpine even though the preamp voltage is less than 4. I prefer the multi line display and also the full text. Not the crappy block (scoreboard like) text you get with that alpine. I had a HU like that and I couldn't stand it. However, that is just personal preference.

 

that hu does look alot nicer imo
