i just purchased the pioneer avic-x920bt on amazon for $568 shipped but that's with the promotional code VRCBKCX6 and before the $100 mail-in rebate from pioneer. i've read the navi is not the greatest but i am not that **** about the navi not being the greatest because hey.....i basically bought a double din navi/video for $468. also, the pioneer avic-x920bt qualifies for the 6 months no interest if you apply for the amazon store card so it's just about $95 a month.

i also just got he avic x-920bt from amazon for 468 after rebates. i just installed it today and it is a great unit. everything works perfectly as i expected. the navigation is not as bad as most people say, i actually like it a lot, but sometimes it is a bit slow. but i can complain for a navigation head unit for under $500. i might be annoyed if i paid full retail though.

Hell of a unit, Hell of a deal. It doesn't have navigation but you can add it on for like 2 hundred bucks I believe. I'd shop around. I recently installed this on my tc and it's the ____. fits perfectly, and if you add this: http://www.amazon.com/Scosche-TA1465...2934685&sr=8-1 you'll get a really clean install. Awesome unit. You can bypass the dvd restrictions with a 12 volt relay. (no stupid switch) (do a youtube search). I heard the navigation is just okay, if you're really concerned about navigation, get a kennwood because they use garmin navigation, but I heard it works fine on the pioneers. Feel free to do whatever but I highly recommend this setup. Good luck on the install! (Also, buy a wiring harness, it's so much better.)

Did you have to trim the brackets? Some pictures would be appreciated. I'm trying to decide between the trim rings (like you mentioned above) or a double din dash kit. With the dash kit you get a flawless clean install but you lose the waterfall door. With the trim rings you dont have to lose the door but dont know if it leaves any gaps or looks flimsy.

Decisions, decisions...

Alpine W505...It is what I got. Expensive POS. The nav costs extra. The ipod will occasionaly skip, or if its in the middle of the song and you skip 3 or 4 it will stop outputting noise, but the track still is counting down. I enjoyed it when I first got it. But again, lack of updates. Or the fact that Alpine wont support the issues with the ipod (considering it is a firmware problem) makes it a bad choice.
