Default need help with elemental designs system

I am not very knowledgable when it comes to this stuff so I need some help in choosing what to get. I will probably have to pay someone to install it also cuz I don't want to screw anything up. So here is what I was thinking of getting.
A pair of edi 6000 components for the front, eu 600's for the back, and a 4 eu 700 subwoofer wedge in the hatch. Is this a good choice? Will it all fit properly? I am going to keep the stock head unit because of the ipod thing. I don't know what amp or amps to get and where should I mount them? I will probably set a limit of about $1000 but would like to stay under that. Even though I could spend more if I really think I need to. Thanks for the suggestions.

Another question - I've heard that aftermarket speakers won't sound good with the stock head unit. At least thats what I remember. But it might have been that the stock speakers don't sound very good with an aftermarket head unit. I can't remember. Maybe it's both. Is there any truth to either?

With new speakers and amps, it will sound way better than stock. For amps, I would personally get the Nine.4 to push the fronts and rears and for the EU700's the Nine.2x pushed 600 watts @ 4 ohm. So the Nine.2x would be perfect for the EU700's. Also if you purchase the amps with the speakers, you get 15% off.

Thanks. What about the placement of the amps? Is under the seats a good place or is there a better place?

Im doing the same thing as you except 2 less eu700's.

Im getting G-nizzle from norcalscion to make me a custom subplug so I can:

Run my front edi6k compnents off the nine.4 amp
Run my midpanel eu600's off the stock headunit
and then run the 2 eu700's off the nine.4

That would be cheaper. What is a subplug? I guess that maybe wouldn't work for me because of the two extra eu 700's, correct?

Subplug is a special harness that plugs into the back of the ipod hu so you can get RCA outputs.
We need it because the factory deck does not have rca outputs which good amps require.

Your going to need a subplug no matter what (or a line output convertor...but the subplug is much cleaner no fuss install).

Then since your wanting to power all your speakers you just gotta get some rca Y cables to split the signal to you diff amps.

You can plug all four eu700's into one amp. (2x or 1x will work)
Your four door/midpanel speakers into a 4 channell amp. Since you have four speakers plus 4 subs you'll have to get another amp for the subs (even a profile thats 200w rms output will work) so that you'll get ample power to your speakers.

I was just planning on using a line out converter.
Unless ... by much cleaner no fuss, do you mean it will sound better to use a subplug or do you just mean a little easier to install and it will look better? Because I definitely want the better sounding solution. But since your having your subplug custom made, does that mean I will not be able to buy one anywhere and I will have to have it custom made if I want to go that route? Or can I buy one somewhere and how much? But if there is no difference in sound quality then I will just go with the line out converter.
Thanks for all the help. I think I have almost all the questions figured out and ready to purchase.

They should give you roughly the same performance, however the LOC has to be mounted and has to be soddered in to the factory wiring, the subplug is compact and connects easily to factory headunit.

IMO, with the subplug I can do a lot more of the work myself and I save money compared to having to get a professional solder it all in for expensive labor at car toys or best buy.

I put both the nine.4 and nine.2x under the hatch floor to the right of the spare tire.
