In need of help for stereo questions
Hello, I didn't see a better place to put this but I'm not the greatest at navigating forums. Here's the things that I need help with.
I want to use a DEH-P800PRS Head unit but cant figure out which install kit to use that will allow me to continue to use the door over the head unit. The American International TOY-K969 looks like it would work and one review on Crutchfield says it allows enough recess for the door to function properly but it doesn't say what kind of deck he used (whether or not it had protruding *****.) Also, Id like to know where people are bringing their power cable for amps through the firewall. I can take it from there, plenty of experience with install, this car is an anomoly in design for easy deck exchange.

I have an older version of the same h/u. The volume **** does stick out some, but nothing that will interfere with closing the door. Any install kit that is for a tC should be fine.
I ran my power cable through the grommet around the steering column.

if the HU doesnt fit all you have to do is drill new holes in the mounting bracket so the HU sits farther back.
for the power line you can actually run it up the side on the engine bay and through the door jam.

I want it completely hidden like the guys setup with the pics of the scion tear down where he put damping in it. Toy's usually have a grommet that allows for easy firewall pass through but the tc wasn't that thought out.
well like i said, if it doesnt fit modify the bracket and/or trim the backside of the door with a dremel in the area its hitting.
and theres are severel grommets in our firewall, go outside, pop your hood, and look.
