Default Need a straight answer.

Alrighty then, I've been searching around the forums and around the net for some info but I haven't been able to find a straight answer, some places say yes some no, blah blah. I just want to know if this is compatible with my tC. I have the factory 6 cd changer in it, and the only thing I've changed audio wise is I have some(non-factory) subwoofers. I'm trying to get it so I can run my iPod or other media player running through the car stereo. and if this wont work, is there anything that will?

Edit: or if that will work but it's not the best, is there one you would recommend?

First off, the one they have pictured IS NOT the DF-TOY. That's the PA11-TOY and that's about $90 more. Also. that one pictured will charge your iPod through the dock connection on the bottom. The DF-TOY does not! (Unless you find RCA Y-Cables that have a dock connection on the other end.) The PA11-TOY comes with everything you need except the RCA cables. I used to have the PA11-TOY and it was great! Then I sold it to upgrade my HU. Here's a link that will answer some of your questions at the end of the DIY.

PA11-TOY Install

The install above will work for either Aux. Adapter. You should be ok with PA11-TOY. The DF-TOY would be alright also but you won't be able to charge your iPod. Your factory 6-Disc Changer ? is answered in the link.

Thanks a lot Hyghgynx! I decided to go with the DF-TOY and picked it up today. I installed just a little while ago but I can't get it to work for some reason. I've tried taking all the CDs out and putting them all in, but still I get nothing. I can't get any static or anything, it's like I didn't even put it in... If I understand correctly to access the aux input I press DISC twice. That doesn't do anything for me I get no response whatsoever when I do that. I followed the instructions in the link you have me exactly as they were there. If I'm just being stupid I apologize. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh boy. Where do I start? Did you see if there is a "direct mode" and a "playlist mode" for the aux. adapter? I had to flick a switch so mine would work. I also prefer the "direct mode". That way you can control your iPod through the HU or the iPod itself. You also want the screen on your HU to read "CD1..." or "CD5...". It will probably work on "CD6..." as well because that's what I used to play my Satellite Radio on. It does take some getting used to pressing the "DISC" button. Be sure that your iPod is on when you press the "DISC" button. If its not on, the aux. adapter may not think the iPod is plugged in and on and therefore not read it. I know this may sound dumb but double-check your connections. Make sure the RCAs are connected right and the harness is installed in the right spot on the HU. (Should be plugged into the EXTERNAL CD plug.) I hope this helps...

I don't see a switch anywhere on it, so either I'm blind or it's not there(I'm pretty sure it's not there)... I checked all my cables and unplugged everything and plugged it back in just to be sure. Turned the ipod on, turned on the radio and hit DISC twice and still I got nothing. When I have CDs in it just plays CDs as it normally would and when I don't have any CDs in it doesn't do anything at all I didn't unplug the cables that were already in there on the back of the radio(which I guess are there for the antenna and stereo and such) could that have anything to do with it?
