Default New idea maybe..

Ok so on my flight back from Chicago yesterday, I was thinking about the little table they have on the seats in front of you. And then an idea hit me lol. I thought to myself it would be awesome (for someone with an 06 tC because of the AUX port) to try to fab on up and attach it to the glove box so that when you open the glove box you can pull a table out and put a laptop on it, and have the wires run to the center consol and you can play all your music from your laptop instead of fumbling with cds (just set up your play lists before you start driving). And to make it last, get a power inverter and hide that in the center consol (in between the shifter and the center consol storage next to the ebrake) and that would make one clean install and it would look really clean.

lol anyways im gonna try that and see how difficult it is.

if anyone has any ideas now is the time to speak

I think the hardest part would be the tray. If you can get that down, the rest sounds easy as far as wires go.

You mean something kinda like this:

Its not a tc and it's not in a glove box but its the same concept. Im not sure how he did it but I found this on the scion evolution boards.

^^ They make a few "tables" for the xBs... I think they're usually some sort of VIP style... whatever that actually is.

An MP3 CD changer would be cheaper and easier to install.

Currently I'm just burning DVD's full of MP3s, I can pretty much fit all of my songs from my computer on 2 discs. It works great and I rarely ever have to change the disc. But I don't think this can be done without a DVD player/reader.

i mean like trying to get one of those trays and then cutting it to fit the glove box... or even making one outta fiberglass or somethin.

i dont want to get a CD changer, i think it would be cool to use the laptop in the car. then you can watch movies too instead of getting a tv in the dash that costs lots of money, when i already have a laptop. lol.

It's going to look foolish like a police car, with a laptop just chillin' inside the car.

I might just get a pocket PC with GPS, and make a clean install somewhere.
Movies are for home, music and GPS is for the car.

The laptop in the tC is the best idea. I have my powerbook in mine, and i plug it into my AUX port and turn on iTunes and its sweet. I just sit my powerbook on the seat for now, untill my xbox 360 idea is finished.......

i would do that but one of my laptops fans is dying lol so it overheats fast (i kno i kno i gotta get that fixed lol) so if i put it on the seat it will overheat before i leave my driveway lol (the driveway is longer then the average one lol) so i would have to put holes in my tray to let cool air in and hot air out. w.e tho

It would be easiest to just set the computer on the seat, granted there are no passengers. But then you'll have long wires to hide in the glovebox.

hiding the wires is easy. you can run it out of the bottom of the glove box and then through the center consol to the storage compartment and have not a single wire visible. takes like 5 min too (well once you get the dash off)
