Sounds like you need 2 items, a pair of 6.5" midbass/midrange speakers and a set of baffles/adapters for the doors.
The baffles/adapters that enable door speaker installation are fairly inexpensive and you can get there here for $20 a pair:

Just about any decent 6.5" speakers will work. If you don't want to spend much, these are a great price/performance value:

1. Remove door panels
2. Attach baffles/adapters to door
3. Attach stock wires to new 6.5" speakers
4. Mount 6.5" speakers to baffle/adapter
5. Replace door panel
Enjoy!

"To each their own" pertained to installation (specifically, the baffles/adapters), in case that wasn't initially clear, as I don't want to be quoted out of context.
rear speakers do NOT make sq worse in any way.. I have never seen an example where they did unless they were over-amplified. A more truthful statement is that they only provide filler sound, not necesarilly better sound. I have had systems with front speakers and subs only and 4 speakers and subs, and 4 speakers with sub was always a better setup since it didnt sound empty in the rear and the filler sound from the rears make up for the low placement of front speakers and the fact that they are each attenuated differently based upon front passenger placement and seat placement. With rears, each side always sounded more balanced. Not to mention having low mounted front speakers with no back speakers sounds like **** to the rear passengers most times. As long as they are amplified at proper relative levels and set up right, they will sound great.
i remember my setup in my Camry was only 3 way on the front (Bostons) no rear speakers, and plus my subs, it sounded awsome (at the front) but the rear hates it cuz all they get its bass and a back massage...
i have kick pedal though, i guess thats why the back seat aint getting that much sound
