Default New system for TC

I recently bought a 2008 Tc with the stock stereo. I am planning to install 2 10 inch subs, and 2 amps, 1 for subs and 1 for speakers. My quesestions are.. 1. Are the stock speakers worth keeping or should i replace them too? 2. I want to run 2 amps off the stock head unit, is a crossover needed if i run 2 amps?

How much are you willing to spend?

What are you looking to get out of your system?

Are you looking at replacing the stock head unit also?

I am willing to spend around 1000 maybe. i just bought two rockford p3d410. These are 10 inch shallow mount subs. I found fiberglass enclosures online to fit in the TC. Id replace the head unit if i can save the steering wheel controls and the AUX hookup. I'm looking to get something that hits hard but isn't distorted. If i got the line out converter, hooked that to the stock headunit. then ran 2 amps off that, 1 for amp, 1 for speakers... would that work and sound ok?

I would just get a aftermarket head unit. All you have to do is get a steering wheel interface adapter to keep your steering wheel controls. Plus it would make running your RCA's alot more easier and cleaner. If you only want a system that hits hard then all you really need are the subs and the amp to power them.

Yea a head unit would make life easier with the RCA's. Can you use that steering wheel interface with any radio, or only some models have that option. i have an old pioneer deh-7600mp that i was thinking of using.

dont use the stock head unit main downfall to its cuz the damn thing has a sound processor so just do a double din touch screen trust me on the sound diff i use to install car audio and i did the full system in my 06 tc the factory speakers are too weak for an amp so i would say take em out for sure i did a full alpine system in my car with the factory unit a month later i put a pioneer touch screen the sound difference was amazing and also remember the voltage is limited that comes out of a factory head unit so ur amps wouldnt get the proper voltage from the RCA cables either
