okay, so i've had my tc since 11/04, and i never new there was actually supposed to be a light in the cubby under the HVAC controls until i saw a post about i a few months ago.

squallheart posted that all tc's are supposed to have them, but some of them came without them, i.e. somebody forgot to install it at some point in assembly.

so while changing my interior dome lights to led's, i ordered a cubby light, but upon closer inspection, there isn't even a socket to put it into. just a hole in the back of the cubby.

i searched on trdsparks for replacement socket or something, but i didn't find one, if i ordered the t 1.5 instrument installed in a twist lock stocket, would that work if i plugged it into the back of the cubby, or would i have to take out the dash to connect some wires behind that?

 

Yours is probably there, but lying on the floor behind the cubby. I have never heard of a tC not having one, but have heard of plenty that had the socket pushed out the back of the cubby, so it is lying on the floor behind the console. If you reach behind there and dig around, you may find it. If so, just push it into the hole in the cubby from the back.

 

well maybe the dealership screwed up when they were installing my interior illuminations and they maybe knocked it out and forgot to put it back in.

 

well, i just went and checked everything out pulling back the carpeting and looking around with a flashlight, didn't see anything out of place or that wasn't plugged in.

so even if i did order that thing, i'd have to find one with the right socket to plug into it.
