Ok i originally have some white LEDs in my front headlight housing. replaced the wedge bulbs with some nice LEDs.

Went on Ebay and bought some new ones, Hella bright LEDS, super super white.

only problem is, its the right 194 bulb, but the base is too big to fit into the housing. and suggestions? Help? is there an adapter out there or should i shave part of the base off.

yeah, seems like thats what i have to do. The auto parts stores dont have any adapters neither do Lowes or Home Depot

 

why would Lowes or HD have it?

it's the same wedge base thing.. just a tighter fit cause of a little thingy there in the way...

lol. yeah your best bet is to shave them to make em fit.

unless you call using a dremel bought at HD or lowes to shave it down a bit an adapter

 

just curious why you're replacing one led bulb for another?

 

because the bigger clear one has more LEDs and is a lot brighter that the one im running right now.

cut the wedge base off the car, bend the pin down on the LED's, solder it to the wires.

 

I tried to do the same thing you're doing, swap my LEDs in the parking lights with bigger, brighter LEDs, but the base wouldn't fit. There's no way around it, you'll have to shave the base a little, without touching any of the internals..but it should be easy cuz theres some room to play with in there. I just ended up putting the brighter SMT LEDs in my map lights and leaving the less bright ones in my parkings, I didn't want to bother dremeling LEDs just to make them fit.

dude, how many ways are you looking for? I think you should just replace them with HIDs. That's what I did.
