Default Opinions on the ED trunk enclosure + sub?

I freely admit to an utter n00b at audio (which is why I'm asking y'all).

Currently, my car is stock and I don't plan on taking it to shows (it is just a daily driver) or do anything extreme, and I've been thinking for awhile that I was wanting to add in a sub, just didn't want to lose the hatch space. I like the idea of the enclosure next to the spare tire, and have been thinking about getting it, but I was wanting to get people's opinions on appearance if they've gotten one? I've heard the sound is good on the sub itself, but I'm also curious if I have to have an amp or would it kill my battery if I didn't have one?

(Hoping this makes sense )

You do need an amp! dont "gehtto install speakers with know amp"all you need is a cheap 150+watts amp for a lone sub. You want your setup to be efficient so look for a digital amp )mono or bridgeable)there normaly small and can fit in tite spaces and are alternator friendly if you really want to push then...well its another ball game! but no it wont kill your battery.the sound is nice, better than the oem subwoofer setup but its all about YOU and what you want! oh and dont forget to dynamat the rear end!though not required

Naw, not planning on pushing it. I just want a little extra bass for sound is all. Dynamat? For acoustics? Hrm, wasn't planning on changing anything like that, I have the carpet/mat from scion already.

i edited my post
but if your not wanting to push it then shhhh!!!! go to walmart buy one of there sony amps and call it day! you can get one digital i think for like 60 bucks that would be more than enough to power that sub or two if bridged correctly

Cool, I'll add that into my thoughts about what to do. Now, any takers on what the ED enclosure is like? Will it require a false floor?

Good point there, especially since I do have a rather large/heavy emergency autokit in the trunk that I've also been trying to figure out how to hold it in one spot (hate that it hits the side of the trunk)
