I've swapped my parking lights for blue led's. i was wondering what sort of work it would take to make it so that when you unlock the car, your parking lights come on? im really clueless when it comes to electronics, so i was just crious what you guys have to think about it. thanks

 

You could wire them somehow to come on with your interior dome, which activates when you unlock the car... I'm sure there is a way to wire it up right.

 

^ Yes! thats pretty much what im talking about, a little bit like home lighting, or puddle lighting.

 

yeah, you just have to hook the ground from the overhead lighting (it's a ground activated light) so, essentially you have to hook up a relay so that it powers on when the ground signal is activated and sends power to the driving lights... seems like that makes sense.

My park lights and turn signals blink when I lock/unlock my doors. I use to have blue leds in the park light so the whole headlight flashed blue. I'm not sure if this flash may come from the fact that I have a Karr alarm installed.

 

Yeah, the parking lights blink. I threw in some blue LED's, so far so good, they haven't burnt out on me.

 

If you hooked up your parking lights to your dome wouldn't they turn on every time you opened the door?

when my lights arent on theyre blue. and i dont drive with thwem on. its just for show when im parked. you cant even see the blue when my lights are on.

 

So what do you do at night?

 

I have 4 bulb LED red in my parking lights and when your regular LowBeam lights are on, you don't see anything except a tiny red light. When you have your parking lights only on, that is when you see them light up red.

Im with Joe, My parking lights flash when i hit lock/inlock as well. They used to be blue but i took mine out and sold em cuz i needed $$$. But it is because of an alarm. I have a viper and it does that.
