i would like the opinions of the members of the forum on what they think about this...

my friend is selling his pioneer avic-d3 head unit for $720, original price is $1,000. he used it for almost a year (9 months). i would like to know if the price is right on the said head unit. if anybody knows a cheaper deal it would be appreciated. thanks.

 

I bought mine NEW last year for about 700$ but it was hard to find since it was discontinued because pioneer made new head units. So its probably even harder to find now.

Its an okay price but for that price you can look at other head units as well

 

700 is too high i just got my Pioneer Premier BT-90 for 400 with scion tc floor mats haha

 

a d3 is worth more like $200 nowanddays.

 

I think 400 is fair. I see plenty of d3 going for that price. 200 is way too low for a unit that has the second biggest screen pioneer has to offer, well currently that is.

 

$400 brand new perhaps... but used? certainly less than that. ok.. maybe $300-350

 

Depends on the quality. My D3 is still working great and still looks brand new. I would not sell mine for 200 and im pretty sure the seller wouldn't. It has Navi, Ipod, movie capabilities, XM, speed sensors, etc. Still better quality than a majority of the units out there.

 

I purchased my AVIC-D2 for $260...so the $300 - $400 range is about what I would expect.

I had to have my internals repaired by a shop in VA for $68...so mine actually ended up costing $328...but I love not having to SWAP OUT NAV dvd's if I want to play music off my CD...that is the one thing I didn't like about the D3

 

agreed...wish they didnt have dvds all together

 

On the D2 it isn't that bad. I got the 90MT dvd discs for $20 on the avic411 forums and it just sits in the dvd drive and never comes out. Nav pops up in under 10 seconds on bootup and switching between A/V and Nav is less than 1 second...

Though I admit a Hard Drive media center would rule.
