I can confirm that the factory cable will not plug into anything but the scion radios that have the ipod connection.

Let me know how you like your 90bt, and which mounting bracket you get. I am debating on getting the 900 vs the 90. More than likely I will go for the 900bt.

for me the f90bt is the worst headunit/navigationunit i've ever had. i've had it since christmas. i do have the latest firmware and I endure a minute long start up time every time i start the car. the navigation is 50/50 and constantly gives me bad directions in my area. the unit always freezes up my ipod to where i have to always reset it manually. right now i've taken out my ipod and use a flash memory stick instead. album art from the ipod is constantly wrong. The AVic D3 had more sound shaping ability. this weekend, I'm gonna sell this unit for $400 on craigslist.

I have the AVIC-F700BT and no problems at all! Yes, it does take about 1 minute to start up, but other than that everything is perfect. iPod cable works great and navigation is very easy to read and has never once given me bad directions

Ok, Everything is installed ! Door doesnt close, i guess i didnt set it back and i guess need to cut of those first holes on the metra.
Bluetooth is loud and clear !
i love the unit !
ipod cable is weird it also has audio video connectors!
Placed GPS antenna on top of the headunit and when i have air on full power something is making noise i guess cuz of "wind" blowing on antenna and i hear air going around it.

NICK THANK YOU FOR HELP BUD !!! I appreciate is alot ! Good luck to you, stay Safe !

P.S. My airbag sensor is ON! I dont have side airbags i guess its the one in the steering wheel is it possible i did something to cause this ?

Also, my glove box doesnt close now ! gotta recheck it..

Hmm i guess it might be different on F700.

but as far as F90bt i think its a great unit, loading time is not as bad as people make it to be. Everything is just good enough for me and better then i expected honestly.

Now i just have to learn how to mod it and do the firmware bypass and change the errow in 3D to a car. But Ipod works great, phone works great, GPS works great, i rewired GPS to A-pillar and corrected some things, now door closes and i'm a very happy camper now.

The F series is the biggest flop known to car audio.

I had both the F900 and F90, both failed multiple times. I had the F900 replaced twice before I was upgraded to the F90 which failed once before I received a full refund and went with the DNX7120 and never looked back.

I'm looking at the DNX5140 currently. Too many bad reviews for the Pioneer and I love their gear. I've used a Garmin a couple times in rentals so I'm semi-used to their navi. The Kenwood is currently $950 at crutch...

I don't know fi you need sub pre outs, if you do the 5140 doesn't have it.

I understand why people buy at crutchfield, it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy on the inside.

However, for the $670 you can get the same BNIB unit from a reputable seller on eBay w/ free shipping and get a 3 year warranty from Squaretrade for $79, or with the 30% off coupon code TAXRELIEF , ~$55.

Total - $725 (eBay) vs $1010 (Crutchfield)

Yes, you will loose the Kenwood manufacturers warranty but you will have a 1 year warranty through your seller which is better than the Kenwood warranty since sellers will simply replace your unit with another of the same type you bought or upgrade you to the next unit up.

Also, you have Squaretrade so if you cannot communicate with your seller, the seller disappears or you simply don't want to go through them Squaretrade will have you send the unit to them using a pre-paid UPS shipping label they provide. They can send the unit to Kenwood for them to repair and Squaretrade will cover the bill or you can opt for a refund and Kenwood will pay you the same price you paid for the unit so you can purchase something else.

I just hate to see people pay a quarter more for something when there are alternatives and they simply don't have to, buy a saver CD or upgrade something else with the $300 you save.

I just bought my F90BT from Sonic Electronix. On top of that they toss in the install parts for free too. Check it out for the Kenwood, I bet they will beat Crutchfield. Only problem is I didn't see mine was back ordered and now I have to wait for it.

Yea, I really wasn't planning on going through crutch to get it. I posted that price bc I think someone earlier said it was going for 4/500 at crutch as a pre-release price or something, which I'm sure changed. I'm looking at getting it between ebay or sonic electronix. Probably ebay because I can get 10%+ cashback through live.com

I already have a harness, etc for my Pioneer single din that's dying. I need to get a double din kit thought I believe: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_1209582...t.html?tp=3121

Thanks for the heads up ont he square trade 3 year though, I wouldn't of known

Damn, I haven't been on these forums in a couple years I think....

Hmm, yea the next higher up version has pre-outs, but I don't have a sub right now. For another $70 maybe I'll just get it just in case I get a sub sometime.

For $70 I would say go for it. Especially if you are putting out this much cash anyway for it. Do it once right not twice. Good luck!
