Default Pioneer CD-BTB200 Phone Compatibility List

For those of you that don't want to read my story....Long story short...I would like to start a phone computability list (similar to the one on the AVIC411.com forums.

Two weeks ago installed a Pioneer AVIC-D3 with the BTB200 Bluetooth unit in my tC. I tried for a few hours to get my Samsung ACH-a870 phone from Verizon to pair up successfully to the unit and no success. I then tried my sisters Nokia 6315i phone also from Verizon and had no success again. At this point I'm beginning to think that I had a defective BTB200 unit... Until I tried my Dad's Motorola E815. This is one of the first phones from Verizon with bluetooth and it doesn't have the new Verizon interface standard thoughout their lineup of phones now. The Motorola E815 worked perfectly. Since then I have tried my friends Cingular (well AT&T) phones and none of them have had a problem pairing up to the BTB200 unit. I've also heard rumors of other Verizon Wireless phones pairing successfully but I don't know which models will.

Copy and paste your phone info into your post please...

My primary phone:
Service Provider: Verizon Wireless
Phone-SW Version: Samsung SCH-A870 S/W A80.ZD09
Autoconnect: No
Basic Function: No
Phone Book Transfer: No
Voice Calling: Nope
Signal & Battery Strength Indicator: No / No
BT Audio Capable?: Not tested

Other phones tested:
Service Provider: Verizon Wireless
Phone-SW Version: Nokia 6315i S/W unknown
Autoconnect: No
Basic Function: No
Phone Book Transfer: No
Voice Calling: Nope
Signal & Battery Strength Indicator: No / No
BT Audio Capable?: Not tested

Service Provider: Verizon Wireless
Phone-SW Version: Motorola E815 S/W unknown
Autoconnect: Yes
Basic Function: Yes
Phone Book Transfer: Not Tested
Voice Calling: Not Tested
Signal & Battery Strength Indicator: Yes / No
BT Audio Capable?: Not tested

Note: The AT&T (Cingular) RAZR V3, Blackberry 8800, C417 all can pair up successfully with the BTB200 and make an outgoing phone call.

I hope this post is helpful to future buyers of the BTB200.

Verizon locks down a lot of their phones so that might be the problem.

It is defiantly a Verizon problem and not a Pioneer problem. The Pioneer BTB200 unit works great. I'm just trying to get a list of working phones going to help out future buyers of the Bluetooth unit will know if it will pair with their phone, or (as in my case) my contract is up in two months and I want to make sure I buy a phone that will pair up successfully.

I believe its the phone model that is not compatible. The motorola razor works with the bluetooth from my aviz z1, my samsung t809 connects but the other party couldnt hear my voice. It would be nice if pioneer releases models that is compatible with their BT

I put a deposit down on a used Black Motorola Q from Verizon Wireless off a fellow Scion Life member. I should be getting the Q around Aug 15th or so. Apparently the phone works very well with the BTB200 unit, according to AVIC411.com forums . I'll post results when I get the phone.
