So I installed my new premium deck in my 07 (deck from an 08') and I am having issues with the AUX/iPoo'd port. Seems I can use the AUX if and only if I have the same item plugged in the aux jack and the center console charge port at the same time. Is this due to a wire change or the ipod feature (same with ipod control on or off). I did have an extra white wire on the main harness and an extra gray wire on the small harness attached with the AUX wires. Should I try to ground/power test the extra wire or should I tap the charge power wire with one of the aux wires?

there was a wiring harness change from the '07 to the '08 decks..

the '08 HU has a new harness from the armrest to the first connector by the shifter... so instead of two seperate harnesses.. they combined them.

which would probably be the reason for the symptoms you are getting.

the extra wire from the aux is a ground.. which was added to the '08+ to help with the alternator whine.

So could I tap the power wire from AUX to the power wire from the charger? Like red red to white or whatever?
