I just wanted to know if there is a way to use the Z1 as a Pc if there is a extra part you can buy or something b/c i like the way the Z1 fits right in and was wondering if i would be able to do that thanx

 

Use it as a pc? heck, it already is a pc. If you wanted to install something like Windows on it, you would definitely need to swap the 30gb hard drive out for something bigger. Whether or not you want to take the inside of the unit apart is up to you. I'm not sure what else you would need. Try running a google search and see what you turn up. Good luck!

 

LOL.. Bought mine and had it taken apart less than a week later. Looking at remote-mounting the screen.. Must be insane. Not sure the Z1 has enough processing power to be used as a PC, unless you just want it to run Solitaire or something... Not much inside it.. You can always use it as the monitor (video in) for another in-car PC, but wouldn't be able to connect the touch-screen. If you're going through that trouble though, best off just to mount a 7" touch-screen VGA monitor where the headunit is and run a carPC hidden somewhere. I bought the screen and was going to do that for nav. until I decided to just go with the Z1.

 

i agree with the z1 being a semi-comptuer in itself. as riceburner said you can always just use it as a screen for an external carputer... but with all its features, and out of curiosity... what exactly more would you need? lol
