Default plastic sheet in door? necessary?

So I had my door panels off today and I was wondering about the significance of that plastic sheet on the inside of the door.
Like yea I suppose its to retain moisture but as I wad taking out my old speakers I felt condensation all over
So I don't think its doing anything. I was just kinda hoping to tear it out. Its ugly and the plastic makes noise.
Just wondering if anyone has had any expirience with this. Thanks! And for those who don't know what ho takin about,

If you plan on sound deading your doors, then yeah, remove it. If not, the plastic doesn't make noise.

What is that plastic even for. I was having that same question myself the other day.

plastic is a moisture barrier. Its there to protect electronics and fabric on the 'dry' side of the door.
Yes, water gets into the other side of the door, thats why there are little drain holes in the metal on the bottom of pretty much every door ever made.

Leave it in place unless you cover the same surface w/ sound damping mat.

Yea, I would just leave it there. It is there for a purpose, if you are going to replace it if deading like they said then go ahead. But I doubt it makes any noise that you can hear when the panel is on and you cant see it when the panel is on so it is not ugly.

haha. darn, i knew everyone was gunna say that. I was hoping for a "take the da*n" thing off!!" And everyone says it doesn't make noise, but mine isn't really sticking onto all that black sealant too well so it crinkles and it really does make noise. so I think Im gunna rip it off and "create" my own. Sorry for the useless post, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't doing something completely stupid.

Thanks guys

You can use butyl tape to stick it back on. It comes in a roll and kinda feels like half-cured caulk, you can find it at body shops or probably ask nicely at your local dealership. Or eBay for about $10

Yes, that'll work great, and it has many other uses too. I get mine for about a dollar a roll;

They also include it free when you purchase raw drivers.

That plastic, like others have said is for Moisture Protection and to keep unwanted particles like dirt and such out of the Window Tracks/ Motors. If you ever take it off, just use some RTV silicone and seal it up. Unless you plan to use Sound Deadening Material then you can take it off, but i don't see the harm in it still being on the door with the material over that.
