I am thinking of putting a slim playstation 2 in my glove box... connected to my pioneer D3 anyone have done this or have any insight as far as a good power inverter and such... also would it over heat being in the glove box

if anyone can post pictures of the setup they have in there car would love to see

 

I'm actually gonna do the same setup, a PS2 slim to my D3. I just need to trade in my regular PS2 for a slim and mount it up. I'm gonna grab a small inverter and just mount it behind the dash, there should be no heat issues. I think I might have read somewhere how to convert a PS2 slim to 12V, so I might look into that as well. Good luck with your project and if I get to it first, I'll post it up.

It has a yellow end coming out. Is that was goes on the PS2? I don't have a slim PS2 so I don't know if it's different than the regular PS2, but the PS2's power plug doesn't look anything like that.

if you do it don't get a ____ty inverter i have a ____ty inverter right now to power it but it makes a whine and its def not engine whine so i recommend getting the little cigarette thing.

 

did you end up trying out the cigarette lighter adapater thing already?

360s get way hot and they require way to much power.

 

Did you use the cig lighter adapter, if not, what did you use to power up the bigger and older PS2, do I need to go out and trade for a slim???

 

if you use an inverter it makes noise. get the cig adapter and it makes it work. big ps2 doesn't have a cig adapter

i got my ps2 in the glove. i drilled a hole in the bottom of my arm rest. hide the wire under the rug and run the ps 2 power wire in between the center console and rug. put the inverter under your seat.

 

I have been looking for that adapter. Amazon has it for like $12.00 shipped.

I guess this would be the thread to ask regarding anything PS2-wise.

So I think I'm gonna order one of those DC adapters for the PS2 slim. I want to cut that plug off and tap into the cigarette lighter, and with that, I want to wire it to a switch in the switch panel to the left of the steering wheel to cut on and off the power to going to the PS2.

What would be the wiring scheme regarding such? I can't seem to figure it out.
