I'm looking at getting xm radio and I wanted to see where people installed theirs. I've searched and can't find anything at all.

Also, what is included with the stock HU? as in "xm ready"

I was looking at getting the roadyXT

I used the Pioneer XM adaptor with an aftermarket radio... it works GREAT....

I've not seen a good place to install a roady in a tC cleanly.... put one in my xB ok though...

The stock XM adaptor is cool.... as long as you find a good place to hide the attenna... other than on the outside of the car.

mine is going through my carcomputer......
antenna on the outside.

Generally speaking you lose a bit of reception when the antenna is inside the car. I still lose some signal in tall trees...i.e. going to the coast.

what service and what adapter are you using to allow ur carputer to control the sat radio? ive only seen a sirius setup in a carputer and that was only released in september.

XM Radio.... It's really easy to set up a cable from an XM Direct module to a computer com port... Then use a Front End like Mobile Impact...

I have it set up with XM and my OBDII, just haven't finished developing the whole PC yet, to install in my tC... Getting there though...

KMC runs the same thing...

I installed my skyfi2 above the center air vents.

I got a special mount from myradiostore.us which has an adhesive that sticks to the center of the plastic-border above the vents... then have the arm of the mount going left.

I need to take a picture.

Anyhow, I popped off the gear box and lifted up the front console and tucked the wires behind...

I also installed an additional socket to power it using an add-a-circuit.

I'm very happy with it... looks professional.

Check MP3car.com there is a guide there for XM.....
search "XM, Guide" that should help you out...

Frog:
Th Xm ready only means it can read the XM signal from and adapter....
If you have the stock HU, you almost have to buy the factory XM to get it to work as planned. If you have an aftermarket unit, you have a lot more options....

Default Quick Sirius Install

I installed an XACT Visor Sirius radio in my xB quite easily. I followed the TRDSparks intructions for the antenna and used my hands to pry off the panels. This was very easy. I routed the antenna exactly as in the document along the right side and up through the glove box and out of the little removeable panel above the cup holder. For power I'm just using the cigarette lighter since I use the radio mostly in my house. I mounted the radio holder mechanism in the cubby hole above the glove box. Quick and easy. The whole install took about a half hour.

NOTE: Stick the antenna on the roof first and then route the wire. I did the opposite and had to re-start.
