Default Portable Media Player installs

I'm hooking my Zune up to my H/U in my car and have got that much working. The problem I've got is I'm not happy with sitting my Zune either in the little storage spot under my h/u or in a cup-holder or whatever and having cables hang around. Especially not since my tC is manual trans and the cables get in the way.

What I'm looking for is suggestions on mounting the Zune to my dash in a place that I can easily see it and move through the menus. I'm thinking either to the left of my h/u or somewhere around/below the a/c controls. I don't think there's a mount that can be bought for the zune so I'm probably going to have to rig something up myself but does anyone have any suggestions? Pictures would be even better if you've done something similar in your car.

A little of what I'm thinking.
1. get an acrylic or leather case for the zune.
2. hack off whatever belt clip is on it.
3. Take the coat-hanger and cut pieces from it to required length
4. Bend pieces and hot-glue to the case(still going to be difficult here to figure out how to reinforce them so the zune doesn't move much and the metal doesn't rattle.)
5. Drill through the storage compartment below head unit and attach the other end of cut up coat hanger. Again I'll have to figure out what to do so it doesn't rattle or move too much.
6. A little paint as needed. I'm not gonna have some nasty copper colored metal visible in my car =)

I'll probably get started on this within the month and put pictures of progress up.

edit: I hate language filters.

I considered that. Mostly aesthetic problems that I just didn't like how it looked where I tested it. Also that the cable comes out of the bottom so the few flat spots I could put it, I'd have the problem that I or my passenger wouldn't be able to see the screen.

I already got started on the coat hanger idea and have somewhat figured out how to reinforce them to prevent movement/rattling. Got some pictures but haven't loaded them on my computer yet. I promise it won't come out looking as redneck as it sounds.
