Default Power Outlet.

Hi all,

My power outlet is not working. does anyone out there knows what might be wrong with it? My friend checked the fuse but said its fine, so what could it be? If you guys cant tell eighter, how much would it cost to get it repaired?

Thanks!

First, which one, I'm assuming you mean the cig lighter. Second, have you done any mods that would mess with anything electrical. Third, which fuse did you check.

yes the cig ligther.

I have not done any electrical mods (not that I know of)I bought my 06 rs2 with amps, I noticed the amp wiring when I was changing oil so if it doesnt normally come with amps then then It couldve undergone some electrical mods. Aside from that, IDK.

If im not mistaken, i think my friend checked the fuse under the side mirror automatic adjuster. And i think he said something like fuse 16 i think.

Make sure you checked the right fuse, or it wouldnt be bad f you check all the fuse. If its not the fuse then should be the wiring then..

Yeah check the fuses again, I doubt it's faulty wiring. I though it was an 18 anyway.

along with the fuses under the dashboard near the pedals, there is also a glass fuse in the center console near the cig lighter. i had the same problem as you are having now, and i went crazy searching for fuses and i couldn't find a burnt out one. i took it into the dealership and had it fixed under warranty. apparently we have fuses near the cig lighter, which i couldn't find, because it was hidden in massive amounts of electrical tape. if you don't want to mess with it, take it to the dealership. although it is a pretty easy fix.

...maybe the easiest thing to check that has yet to be mentioned...check to make sure the power wiring is plugged into the socket!

If someone put amp/subs in your car previously, it ias also very likely they had another headunit. If that is the case..they had to take the console area off, which requires unplugging the lighter socket for the easiest access to that whole area.
