Powering a JL Sub

Would a JL Audio Amp e1400d powering 400 W RMS x 1 @ 2 ohm be enough for a power hungry 12W6V2? and would it be efficient? are there other amps to be considered?

That would be just fine.... the 12w6 is rated for 400 watts anyway....

I got mine running at 500 watts...dunno if thats a bad thing haha...but I never have it running at all frequencies..just at the real bassy parts

JL makes really good products so that amp probably makes more then the rated power, i have a 12w6v2 and had one of JLs 500/1 amps hooked up to it and it sounds amazing.

i'm running dual 10w6v2's off an eD NINe.1 1200x1 when run at this impedance (i wired the subs so that the amp sees a 1 ohm load), so 600 apiece.

400 just doesn't seem like your pushing them to their most potential.
