Default Problem with car after led install

hello everyone, I installed red Leds on the gauges and the center console, and after a while of driving the right side of the speedometer started to flicker, thaqn when my friend went to get gas and turned the car off, the car wouldnt accelerate, he had to turn it off and on again for it to work, and now it just keeps happening, the center console works perfectly and is lit up great, what should i do?

I wouldn't think the guages would have any effect on the accelerator. I could understand the flicker, if the solder isn't perfect or something...

Strange thing when you turn the dim switch the radio turns up. The gauges on the speedometer does not move while in motion. At times the car is on but it disables the gas or somethin and it wont move while its on. The minute you turn the dim switch to off all works again.

i would take all of the LEDs off, resolder and make sure everything is soldered correctly and cleanly. What LEDs did you get? Is the solder connecting to any other leads?

i made sure that none of the solder touched n e thing else on the circuit board, im gonna recheck each led so that would be fixed, but why does the accelerator not work as good all of a sudden? man this is weird stuff.

ok we found the problem. we took off the whole frame of the gauges so that the leds are fully exposed, we turned the light on and started to emss with the dimmer, there was one led that stayed on no matter how low or even when the light is of. we desoldered that led and cleaned up the excess solder and placed it back on and now it works perfect. Thanks for your help guys. the only thing thats really weird is how the radio was controlled by the dimmer, and the car started having trouble with acceleration!

well we finished with this problem. thank God :p

Weird. The only thing I can think that would have affected the accelleration was if the short was in some way contacting the Engine Speed pulse signal. A partial short to this would be like semi grounding the tach.. causing running issues
