Default Problems adding amp and sub to 08 stock HU

I just added a amp and sub that i had just sitting around to my new 08. The shop said that the speaker wires out of the HU are capped so when i add a converter to get RCAs, i cant get any bass out of the subs. My stock doors hit harder than my sub.

I have a spec model, does the spec have the power sub in the back like the reg model or not.

eh that shop sounds wack

get a jl clean sweep/mtx req, or rokford 3sixty

either one will tie into your factory wires and work with any amp

how is your amp hooked up to your radio now?

They used a high level-low level converter, tied into factory speaker wires from the back speakers.

I do not want to spend the money for any of those because im saving up for a Clarion DZ9255. I have just never had this problem with a factory HU before.

a LoC or line output converter should do the trick, if you have the hpf (high pass filter) and lpf (low pass filter) set properly. Generally its hooked up between the factory deck and the speakers...ie, find the wiring harness on the back of the factory deck, find which wires run to which speakers (www.the12volt.com) and tap into them. you dont have to solder, but the end result is this...

you rear speakers low end will be filtered to the subwoofer...ie, your rear speakers shouldnt have much bass, but your sub will hit when its supposed to.

PM me if you have questions, I have worked on a couple tCs and xBs, all the same. factory ampor not, its fine.

Default I am having the same problem!

I just ran all of my wires and hooked up my LOC behind the stock HU. I got all of the wire color connections from a DIY post and did them all as they were said to be done and no bass is coming out of my subs. What could be the problem?
