question about capacitor

Default question about capacitor

ok I need to disconnect my battery, but I have a 2 farad cap installed. do I need to do anything special prior to disconnecting the battery? im only disconnecting it for about a minute or two.

There is nothing else you will have to do. Just disconnect the battery and install from there.

oh sry it sounded like I was going to install the cap, im actually just disconnecting my battery so I could get the cd player to spit out my cd thats been stuck for a couple days now.
I heard you can disconnect the battery and when you reconnect it should spit out the cd.

just wanna make sure that nothing will happen seeing as I have a cap.

you will have to keep the power disconnected longer until the cap uncharges because it will still provide power until it drains. When you reconnect it you need to use a resistor to charge the cap before finallizing the connection.
