Question about hvac and blower
Ok people, I feel kinda stupid asking this but I've looked high and low and haven't been able to find a post that covers this issue. I was performing led swaps for my guages ('06 tC) and hvac unit and although I had success with the gauges I messed up the pad for the new resistor (306) location on the hvac board. Due to my mistake I'm presently stuck with with an hvac unit with no resistor at all in the 306 location. That being said, I went out and plugged the hvac back into the car to see if I'd totally messed up the board beyond repair. Upon plugging it in from what I can tell pretty much all the lights (including heater and a/c) still come on but the blower doesn't seem to respond if I try and turn up/down the heater or a/c. Oh yea, before messing up the 306 resistor I did replace the voltage regulator in case that's important to know? Might have I blown a fuse by plugging the board back in with the missing resistor as I thought the resistor only affected the led's on the board? It's a tad bit cold to be running around town with no heat so if I've blown a fuse will it just happen again if I replace it and try to use the hvac to run the ac/heat or is there no correlation between the two? Also, which fuse (s) should I be checking to see if there is a blown fuse that relates to my problem? I may just try to find an hvac unit off car-parts.com as I am not skilled enough to repair the pad myself and at this point I'd be happy just to have a working blower even if my hvac led's aren't swapped like the gauges. I appreciate all the help I can get in advance so please respond if you feel you can help me solve my dilemma.
