well... it's not wise or reccommended driving the vehicle without your gauges.

getting your gauges reprogrammed is alot more complicated and time-consuming than most people think.

if you do drive your car abit without your gauges, i have seen and heard that you'll get a CEL when you place them back in.. however it's easily resettable.

all-in-all..... i still wouldn't do it. lots of legal issues that follow it.

reset the CEL? disconnect the battery for a little while usually does it.

but your mileage is still going to be off.

The dealer needs to go back to class then The mileage is stored in the cluster, just like all odo setups before digital readouts were used.

The mileage will not increment with the cluster out, so you will not be recording any mileage.

Haha, yep it's amazing how little the techs know, and how much the drivers know. The odo reading is definately stored in teh dash itself. But whats the big deal, if the miles are a little low, thats good for you and if the dealer thinks it's right, even better. I had mine replaced a while back because the thing somehow shorted out, and one by one the guages stopped working. When they gave me a new one they said it would need reprogrammed to my mileage, and it only took about 5 minutes for my car to be done.

This is not something i would be worried about. The only thing i would be worried about is the tach so you don't over rev on highway merges.
