Default Questions about the TWM shifter

I am looking at buying a short shifter and it seems like a lot of people use the TWM short shifter.

First question, for people that have "tested out" or have the stage 2 short shifter. Does the 2.5 inch drop ever seem too low, like get in the way of the drinks in the cup holder.

Lastly I didn't find many people saying if they got theres with the "shifter base bushings" Its $20 extra, but it kinda seems like an extra way for them to make money.

Thanks

it never gets in the way...it's still a taller shifter than say the G35 or WRX because it is tall to begin with, but it looks much better. I think one guy got the bushings with it here, just can't remember who, but i saw it. It's a good mod, go for it!

I'm also planning on getting the TWM in the future and I have heard too that the bushing kit is worth it.

was just posting about the bushings kit. It is actually pretty new thats why u dont see people talkin about it with the kit. I just purchased my TWM shifter 2 and was excited to install it, but i just got word that the bushings kit came out, so after askin some heads, i decided im gonna get it. It seems like a good investment, im gonna go with the combo kit so i can get the cable bushings too....i dont like the notchy feeling of the shifter and if it is smooth and precise it will be a godsend. Its where u connect with ur car its gotta feel juuuust right

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your orders. We just announced these new bushing kits to past customers 2 days ago, so there isn't much talk yet on the forum. If the number of orders we've received over the last 2 days is any indication there will be lots of talk very soon ;)

All the bushing kits are in stock and we shipped all orders we received prior to the 14th yesterday. All orders received for the bushings yesterday and today have shipped today. You should recieve tracking numbers by e-mail before the end of the business day today. Here's a pic of the busing kits for those who aren't sure what bushings we're referring to:

The shifter cable bushings and shifter base bushings can be bought separately, or as a combo with a $5 savings. Check them out here: New TWM shifter bushings

The Scion tC short shifter can also be purchased with the bushings at a discount here: Scion tC short shifter

I hope this helps, feel free to contact us at 1-877-655-0540 with any questions.

Thanks,

Kevin

yea i love the stage 2 short shifter i happen to have some metal bushing that came with the Ark Short shifter i had before. I just left those metal bushings and swapped the shifter. I love how smooth the shifting can be and how short the throws are a big diffrence from the ARK to TWM stage 2. i am very happy with my TWM with metal bushings looks good in my opinion not to low not to high

I know people out there have cable bushing from Corsport, TWM, Dr. Isotope, etc and I know there are opinions out there. Would anyone like to divulge any information regarding these? I have TWM's just sitting there waiting to be installed. I already have the TWM Stage 2 sts and it's awesome. Do the bushing enhance the shifting experience or take away from it? I know it is supposed to enhance it but wanted to ask. Also, are there any binding issues or mechanical problems linked back to the cable bushings? Just curious b/f I put them in.
