Default Radar detectors? how long will they be around?

i have right now the Passport Escort 8500 x50 (red edition). i am debating about selling it, i kinda dont want to part with it but i still have the fear of it not working anymore due to the advancements in the near future. i think that cops will stop using radars all together and i will be stuck with a piece of plastic and metal lol. lmk what you guys think..should i sell?

they are still useful if your area has speed and traffic camaras, they use radar too, so it is just good to know if your being watched.

yeah, i didn't want to be mean, but what on earth do you think they are going to start using? they have radar and lidar. other then that they have patrol aircraft. they're really isn't anything they can use other than those. what else could they do to figure out your speed? pace you from behind?

A radar signal is a wireless signal... I don't know where you got this "gut feeling" from, but I haven't heard any rumors of new technologies being employed. Aside from radar, the only other commonly used methods are lidar, aircraft patrols, pacing, and cameras.

The effectiveness of radar detectors can be debated, but it will remain to be the most commonly used method speed monitoring.

yes, they will, and have started to phase out radar. WA state patrol only uses laser now. trust me i know.
once your radar detector tells you that they are there, its too late.
1 month down, 11 to go on deferment.

use it while you got it. with your same line of thinking, you will never buy a cell phone, a computer, any piece of technology because it will be outdated and eventually obsolite in the future. technology changes. new bigger and better models come out every day get over it.

but then..i had a buyer for an okay price on it. it was 160. i got it for 110. thats the only reason i was asking. i decided to keep it because it DOES help me out alot and saved me a couple times. i guess he paid its worth already.
