Default Radio Cover Clearance Issues with DVD--

Hey guys i know ive read about people fixing the radio cover clearance for there dvds but never looked into the details. Now I have my kenwood ddx6019 installed and have to keep the cover open for now if anyone could link me to a thread explaining the fix or just explaining it here that would be great. Thanks in advance!

basically the cover will go down about half way but once it trys to level out theres just no way because the dvd screen itself is out so flush with the dash

or you can buy the new Metra Double Din Dash Kit and that fixes your problem for only $19.99

i got a dash kit and just bolted it over the stock one i redrilled...feel more secure using the metal vs plastic mounts!

very true. if i was putting in a double din, i would also use the metal-stock brackets with redrilled holes, and use the dash kit for the two plastic pieces that cover the gaps. that way, you get the best of both worlds: security and looks

the door itself is two pieces. i just took the back piece off and cut it to fit. didn't cost me a thing. plus you can't tell at all.
