Default Randode Interior Cold Cathode Kit

Hello everyone,

I just purchased the randode interior kit for the tc, and the past 2 weeks i have been unable to install it. I even took it to my local install shop and they too could not figure out how it should work. Does anyone have any instructions, picture, advice, etc....anything at all that is helpful with installing the kit.

Thanks

ps. im located in san diego (scripps ranch/mira mesa) if there is any local help.

hmm.. as far as my understanding.. the randode kit is geared towards novice installers, as he charges quite a bit just to make it so.

did it not come with instructions?

1. I have already searched and nothing helpful came up

2. yes, everything is already pre-wired and It does come with written instructions, but, the orientation and mounting of the wires is what confuses me.

Thanks again everyone.

Ok, so after you ground it to the screw that holds the gas pedal into place, where do you run the wires through? I dont understand how the wire should be oriented and through where do you wire it?

I have been in contact with randode, but unfortunateley he doesnt have a tC that he can take picture of. A diagram of how it is supposed to work would be nice.

do you have the cathodes in place? During my install the majority of the wiring ran through the center console and out from there to the cathodes.

ok, so basically the main wire runs through the middle, and then the rear cathodes are mounted under the seat and plugged in there, and the front ones are under the dash, right?

also, i hooked up the kit and tried to turn it on to see if it would display and it didnt : (

Where does the ground wire go exactly?
Also, does it matter which box gets 2 cathodes?

You can mount the cathodes wherever you would like or far as the wire will reach. I mounted mine under the dash and under the seats. Do you have your whole console taken out? it makes this install much easier. as for the ground if randy suggested to put it by the gas peddle, thats were you should put it. did you find the screw ?

you dont have to take the console out, you can just tuck it up under the console and run in through the carpet under the seats. I took the seats out and it was really easy. the ground wire just goes to a metal frame and the black power wire for the fuse box is shown in the 11th pic.

taking out the console will make it s much easier, and as for the ground, take a flash light and shine it by the gas peddle, you will see a nut mounted jus above the gas peddle, just unscrew it and put the ground there and reattach.

what is the best entry for the wire into the console? should you wire it through where the cigarette lighter is, or more towards the front of the car?

PM randy (Randode)

He's a cool guy. He'll help you out and answer any of your questions. It should be a pretty straight forward install but Im sure he deals with all sorts of little technical problems on a regular basis. Im sure he'll have the answers you need.

I dont take out the seats or the console. If you look down by the gas pedal you will see this fastener holding the carpet.

pull the fastener out, and pull the carpet back. You will see a bolt. attach the ground to the bolt and reinstall like this:

run the wires under the left edge of the console, then under the carpet, and out unde the seats.

Randy, emailed you about ordering and installing some interior and engine bay cathode kits. Are they available for pick up as opposed to being shipped?

Thanks!
