I got a scratch on the trim by my shifter, so I thought hmmm...use some REALLY REALLY fine sandpaper, wet it, and buff that part of the panel out...easy right? Well our cars interior is cheap and scratches easy, and from just hardly rubbing it all, it turbed black, and wore through the paint! Now I am thinking I may pull that panel out, mask it off, and respray it silver again to look stock still...

Has anyone done this? Any tips? or other fixes? I doubt using a brush on silver to cover it would look good enough....

A lot of nicely repained dash pieces in there.

Likely it's going to be better to do both pieces than just the bottom one.

 

The one matched black looks pretty sweet! I just dont wanna spend more $ having it done right at a body shop!

I hate it cause I am SO pick with my cars that I am almost that compulsive disorder or whatever haha.

I keep a dustbuster charged behind my seat to vacuum after passengers get out, and keep the dash flawless, then accidentally this happened!

But I have noticed the tC interior parts and even the paint are very brittle and scratch super easy! Sucks....I was just hooking up my ipod wire, and the harness for my deck was resting and put a mark on it and i was ilke CRAP! haha oh well, at least i can hear my iPod now...
