Default S2000 Push Start Button [Updated w/ pic 07-11-05]

I placed the S2000 push start button in the cigarrette adapter today. Looks VERY nice. I was wondering if anyone knows how to do the wiring on that.

Any help is appreciated.

Greg

EDIT:

Here are some pics. Tell me what you think.

i was going to say the same...i just realized the time...

pm me tomorrow (or later today) i can send you the wiring diagram for the ign. wiring...

most pushbutton kits come with a wiring diagram of at least which wire goes to which ign. wire; ive got the diagram to show which ign. wire = what function and what color...

basically though, the way i wired my button was to optionally start the car w/the button for show, or just like a normal car. all i did was add a relay in between the button and the starter wire, and the relay was triggered by the key being in II position (this was on my vigor a few years back)

good luck w/the install

you should of thought about going with www.ignitedperformance.com as they would supply those with their kit.

First of all i haven't purchased anything yet. Second of all the instructions provided by their "kit" sucks ___. On top of all that, its overpriced.

Google is your friend.

http://www.handa-accessories.com/s2000.html <--- for start button...

Installs:

http://www.metalreviewcentre.com/S2000.htm
http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/3rdgen/how-to/s2000button.htm

There are a few other install guides. I've seen one in a Miata and one in an old CRX somewhere...

I advise only experienced people try this modification. I also suggest you use a multimeter to test wires. Check the tech section for wire colors...

Aren't you still going to need to put the key in the ignition and turn it to ON to bypass the engine immobilizer. If you gotta do all that anyway, what's the point? Sounds like it adds an extra step.

Well it would be rather dumb if anyone could start your car just by pushing a button withouth having the key placed in the ignition. An extra step? yes. Worth it? Definitely!

I think he means what is the point of using the button when you still have to turn the key to get the button to even work.
