Default This ScionNavigation the real scoop

This Navigation unit is made by Aisin AW with help from Alpine Electonics
Aisin AW makes the Navigaiton portion and the Audio is done by Alpine.
iPod controls ---YES
Pe-amp outputs---NO
Video output----YES
Back up camera ready ---NO
I know cause I have taken one out and held it in my hands. Label says Aisin AW.

Hope this helps!

Amazing you can get the Alpine with the Blackbird (that comes loaded for Hawaii and Alaska) for cheaper than you can get Scion's Alpine Nav.... and you keep the door on the radio.

Hi, I had a question about the factory Scion TC navigation unit which you can purchase for the 2008 scion tc now.
I have a 2007 Scion TC, but I really like the look of the 2008 Scion tc navigaton. However, will this fit directly into my 2007 Scion TC without an adapter or will I need one? And if I do need an adapter where could I purchase one because I've already talked to Toyota and they said that the electrical system is slightly different for the 2008. It's hard to believe that tht system would be different considereing that they are the same vehicle pretty much.
Please, can anyone help me out here.
Thanks

for those peeps that want the Navi, the radio door cover will need to be removed. I know this because I've already seen a 08 tC with the Navi. and to fill in the space of where the door goes when it's open is a piece of plastic that says Scion on it.

But do you know if the 2008 scion tc navi is compatible with the 2007 scion tc. As far as being able to be hooked up to the same circuitry.

I dont know for sure but it probably is. I don't see why Scion would change the circuitry on the 08.

Do you think you could do some research for me and find out for me? I ask because I asked Toyota the same question and they said that the circiutry is different from the 2007 to the 2008 navi.
