Default Scion Navigation System with tCover installed(w/ video)

hello
i got my 08 tC when they just came out.
and after i ordered with fatory navigation system
i noticed that SNS does not have the waterfall door.
i found this forum anf got information that people put pioneer Nav installed with the door so i decided to make mine.
luckly i could buy a consolde with tCover
but i found that brackets that supports SNS is different than the rgular one.
so i needed to get them
after a whole day of playing with all parts together
here is what i ended up with...

http://www.youtube.com/v/VcKuEgiSgRI

now i am thinking of putting a button onto the door so i can turnoff the system manually and then close the door.

^^exactly. Me too. That is no ordinary tilt feature. If that is what comes with the SNS (hahaha, that makes me think of Super Nintendo!) then I am surely going to have to take back some of the bad things I have though about the system!

hmm im thinking, if u can really pick if u want it to pop out or not, it will be ugly to see all the mechanics since the 08's are flushed with the waterfall. prolly look like a single din pop out navi thing going on.

My Eclipse does the same thing. Has about 6 differnt tilt angles.
Im pretty sure Alpines and Kenwood radios do the same

No labor really... just hook everything up, put the antenna in the dash and you're running free... Very simple process. So yea, it includes the labor

i did not do anything to the unit itself. just ajusted mounting position. so basically it pops out little before it tilts. but i mount the unit tiltes so it looks flushed when tilted.

it is tCover that open and close the door.

i mount extra contact switch on the door so system turn on only when door opens all the way up.
and i put some relays and capacitor for the door so it delays closing waiting for system to shut down.
this way i can void jamming each other.

That was pretty rad. I'm almost to the point ot no more "ice", but that is just something that has got to be done. Great work!

instead of putting it on a switch, did you put it on the ignition or how did you make it so it runs off the key?
