Default Scion Navigation System works on a 05 tc.

i appologize if there is a similar post, ive searched the boards for almost 3 weeks to find the info and couldnt find a definate answer.

i would just like to let everyone know that the scion navigation system CAN be installed into a 2005 TC. i left the waterfall cover on, though i removed the two rubber nipple things from the inside of the door. it closes, but it touches somewhere, i assume if i took a dremel to it i could file it down a bit, but all the wiring plugged right into the back of the SNS. i havnt tried some of the features yet, such as whether the volume will raise up when you accel. i kind of think it wont, as i dont think the 2005 supported that option with the stereo systems. also, thanks to finding a custom cable off ebay, i was able to hook my ipod up to the system and it controls it just fine.

seeing as it would work on a 2k5 tc, im sure it would work for the xa and xb for earlier years.

yeah, its dvd based, the thing comes with a gps antenna that, if following the install guide, installs inside the dash behind the gauge cluster. the unit has 2 slots in it, the upper is for cds and the lower is the dvd slot, i havnt tried it yet, but its supposed to support dvd video as well.

ill see about changing the title if i can. and i though i should mention also, that i used the brackets that came with my stock stereo, and that keeps the nav screen recessed in the dash. however, it does not effect the screen opening and closing or the tilt function.

Did you conduct the installation yourself?
