I have a 2005 Tc and wanted to upgrade the radio. If I could get my hands on a 2008 OEL one would it be a direct fit with the harnest and wirings or needs some editing?

 

you can use radio.. and cd player.

no ipod or aux for you.

 

I though the ipod and aux will work since they use the same connector?

 

he has an '05.. car has no connections for him

'06 and above.. okay.

 

He can always order the part that goes from the radio into the arm rest to complete the install right?

 

yea pretty much you can order the part

 

there are cables available on ebay "SC12235" that connect to the head unit and then plug into the iPod that allow control of the ipod via the head unit. These work on all iPod compatible head units.

 

it's not as easy as you may think.

there's a wiring harness that goes from a plug inside the center area where the shifter is to the armrest.

however.. the wiring harness from that to the radio is integrated into the '06+ vehicles...

that part.. is the issue you'll run into.
