Default Scion TC radio harness?

I'm looking for a scion tc radio harness for a T1807. This is for a swap to a celica GT-S. Is there a generic one I can buy at an auto sound store? Or do I literally have to go to a junk yard to find one? Thanks.

Will this work for me?

Usually Metra is the way to go, and that one looks like the metra one.

Here is the same one:

Ok. So basically what I think I have to get for this to work is a reverse wire for harness for my car. And get a regular wire harness for a scion tc (since all I have is the tc headunit itself minus the harness that plugs into it). Match up the colors and then connect the reverse wire harness for my car to my car's regular harness and plug the scion tc harness that I acquired, to the tc headunit. Correct? Or am I missing something?

Only problem is that I have the premium sound system that comes with an external amp to power my stock headunit. My stock headunit doesn't have an internal amp like your headunits. How would all that work together? Two amps?

Are you putting the tC radio into the celica?

If your celica is all factory then you will need to do add no harness or cut anything. You will however have to find your factory amp, which is usually beneath the radio mounted to the chassis of the car, it is about the size of a small book and the harness that is plugged into that amp will plug into your scion radio. Just look for it a bit or follow the harness that plugs into your factory ceilca radio to where it comes from, it will lead you to the amp. You wont need any harnesses because they are both made by toyota and have the same harness metra part number 70-1761 good luck finding it.

I know where the amp is. It's just beaneath the glovebox. So what you're saying is to unhook the 2 plugs that go into the amp. And then hook them up to the scion headunit? What would I do with my regular GT-S harness?

nooo what you have to do is connect the scion radio to the celica harness. you dont need anything special for that. BUT the scion radio is an amplifies system meaning you have to do an amp bypass. To do this you need to tone test the speaker wire that comes out of the amp. You can find the color codes on direct techs, or scosche. You need to pop test the speaker wire before hooking them up just to make sure that it is the correct wire. To do this simply take a nine volt batter to the positive and negative of the speaker wire your trying to find and touch it to the nine volt respectivily. Hook up all the wires and then your done.

The problem I have is that the GT-S harness doesn't fit in the scion radio socket. Is there a place other than a junk yard where I can find an OEM or generic scion tc radio harness. Like for instance my car, let's say I get robbed and my stock harness gets stollen. I can go online and buy a replacement harness just like my OEM one. Costs me just a couple of bucks. Can I find this for a scion tc?

Here's the example of my harness.

ahhhh ya your gonna need the reverse harness.... cut the stock one off and wire this one in. Just make sure you connect the correct wires, and then do what i said above.

So which would be the correct harness for me to order. That would plug right in to my scion radio just like the OEM scion tc harness? Link or maybe a parts numbers?

metra part number is 71-1761. Just go to a car audio shop and ask for one it will be a lot easier.

no you are all wrong. The two plugs that go into the celica's factory amp are exactly the same as the two that would be found behind the dash in a scion tc. The harness that would plug into both of these is metra part number 70-1761. they are both made by toyota and toyota only has one unamplified harness outside of their lexus line. If you unplug the harness into the amp and plug it into the scion radio you will be bypassing the amp and will not need any reverse harness. If you want to test it out you can un plug those two harnesses from the amp behind your glove box and put them into the scion radio and turn it on while it is sitting on your passanger floor board to see if it has sound. The sizes are the same when mounting in the hole also since both the scion and celica have the same double din dash kit. Trust me on this use the harnesses that are in the amp i have been doing audio installation for two years now, professionally.

You will not need to buy any additional harness. I have used the same harness in my scion now that has been in all of the 4 toyotas that i have owned since i have had vehicles. it might just be tight to get to the radio from where the amp is right now.

That's exactly what i'm trying to do. Put a scion tc radio into a celica. And I do have a harness. It's my stock OEM harness. The one that plugs into my stock radio (OEM celica radio). The problem is that my stock OEM harness wasn't made to plug into a scion tc radio (I tryed it already, it doesn't go in). That's where I have my first problem. Now I know this has been done before. And I also know that there are diferent harnesses (Metra, Scosche, etc) for this type of install. Now, what I need to know is which harnesses will make this install possible.

Oh, and I tryed pluging the celica amp harnesses into the scion tc radio and it didn't work either. Does not fit. Anything else?
