Default Scion's and Ipod's Please Help Me

Ok, i am well aware that my XA has an input jack in the center for an ipod hookup, but...you have to have an ipod stero which i didn't order from scion. Now, should i just get an FM transmitter to plug in, or is it worth getting a whole new stero.
Also is this just good for Apple Ipod's or can i hook up any mp3 player. help me out

The iPod stereo provides an interface on the head unit for an iPod. If you want to control the iPod, then you'd need it. However, the jack can be used for any audio device. You just need to get the cable, plug it in, then set the head unit to AUX. There is no need for an FM transmitter.

Nope, it just means that if you have an iPod, you cannot control it from the stereo and will have to do it direct from the iPod. As far as the cable, just go to Best Buy or Radio Shack and ask them for a cable that has a male plug on either end (I believe the size is 1/8 inch). I suggest Best Buy, ask for Monster Cables because they are much more durable than the ones at Radio Shack. Enjoy and happy listening to your mp3's.

You can go to radioshack and get an "auxilary cable" its like $5, plug it into your aux input in the glove box and the other end goes into the headphone jack on your ipod, then you just turn the radio to "AUX" and hit play on your ipod and just control everything on your ipod. I have that on my car, sounds decent.

Space just keep changing the characters until you get a blank character. It's a pain, but what can we do.
