Default Scosche Dash KIt HELP!

SO i installed the Alpine headunit and went to put the dash piece back on, but it wouldn't fit!! the only way to get the dash piece to fit over the cd player dash kit was to remove the entire radio cover mechanism (which squeaked anway, but..). I don't really mind not having the cover, but it doesn't seem 'rite' to me that it wouldn't fit. PLUS, theres a 1/2 inch gap where the cover would be in the fully open position, so you can basically see into the dash..not the most aestetically appealing look.

Did anyone else have a similar experience with their SCOSCHE dash kit? What AM I DOING WRONG? I may go out and get A METRA kit if it fits better.

I've been through the same dilema. The Scosche kit sucks. I ended up getting frustrated and threw it away. Then I went and got the Metra kit, and it slipped right in. Save yourself! go return it now! lol
