Sealed Speaker Enclosure in Door of tC, Can it be Done?
I'm interested in using MDF to create a Sealed Enclosure in the DOOR of hte tC. It will be about 4-6 Liters. I think it will stick out from the door 2.5" and behind the door panel 1". Do you think I can get away with doing that or is it 1. Not worth my time and 2. impossible with the clearence?
Any thoughts from people that have messed around with Speaker Installs would be good. Thanks.

def not worth it. if you want to do something like that, do it to the rear speakers and put in a nice 6.5" midbass in the enclosure. and even then, the only way id do it was to make the enclosure out of fiberglass

not really worth the effort, Unless you are using a true mid bass speaker that NEEDS a enclosure. 99% of speakers are designed for infinite baffle. I have done it before in one of my old cars and it didnt make any difference on how it sounded.
Just a component set. Thought i'd get better sound/response from the speaker... especially with less wattage using a sealed enclosure. Manufacturers provide sealed dimension...thought it might be worth the try.
I guess its not...

Alot of effort for very little if any gain.
Even if a particular speaker would work better in a sealed enclosure you would still have less lower freq output almost assuredly. Easier to just deaden the doors well, build a solid baffel and install a good midbass driver which there are many to chose from.
