the 9856 has got that damn stupid glide touch crap on the bottom... a feature most people did not like... also if an ipod conection is in your future the 56 has a slower connection to pull up track titles, artists, ect..

the 83 is the new model for 07... as for the ipod is has a high speed conection so when you scroll threw artists, genres what have you... it comes up right away.. a must have for the high speed world of today...

Hmm...mine doesn't have that. My 9856 has a Rotary Encoder (fancy name for a recessing **** ). You might be thinking of the HU before the 9856.

Not mine. When you a play a song, it takes 4 seconds for the artist, title, and song to appear on the HU. It doesn't bother me at all. But you do have to spend another $30 for the iPod cable.
