Default Seatbelt "Off" Indicator Question

Hi guys. Recently, the chime/beeping sound along with the seatbelt off indicator in the dash no longer work when I turn on the car. Well, its more like it works about 25% of the time. If I hold down the buckle unlock for a few minutes, the chime/beeping comes back along withe warning in the dash. I know that normally the chime/beeping comes on whenever the car is turned on as reminder to put on the seatbelt and I am not asking how to turn it off because I've already read threads about that. I came upon a similar thread in the 1st gen xB forum that had a discussion about the same issue I'm facing but there is not yet a solution. Therefore I thought I'd ask here in the tC portion of the forums if I could get some help on how to get the warning chime/beeping and the warning in the dash working normally again. Thanks.

***By the way, this is the driver's seat that I'm talking about.***
