Default Securing Subs

I was just wondering what everyone used to secure their sub boxes in the back of their trunks. Mine slides around and the carpet gets squished, and yeah I wanted to secure it somehow that wouldn't put any holes in the carpet or car. Thought about a bungee cord but that would look kinda ugly.

These are my subs:

hmm... you could try to velcro the enclosure to the floor, but the velcro has 3M tape, so you'd pretty much have to keep the subs in that one location. yeah, don't put a bungee cord in there, no matter what.

build a platform out of wood the size of your trunk. you might be able to use your cargo carpet as a template, just give it a little extra on the edges to really fit tight. cut a hole in the center of it the size of your box.

carpet it, drop it in the cargo, and set your box in the hole. it won't move unless you get in an accident, in which case, it would be flying death.

another alternative is to cut a front and a top for the box that makes it look as though it takes up the whole area. you'd screw the pieces onto the box, and then it really would not move. i did this with mine, and the extra cargo area on the sides of the box are accessible by folding the seats.

i tied my box down using the tire strap thing. i know it might look ghetto but its better than having the box slide around.

I thought about velcro, but I dont think that would be strong enough. :/

velcro = flying death if you get in a wreck.

I didn't want to screw anything into the car, so I dont think L brackets would work.

And they are kinda flying death atm anyways not being tied down with anything. Theres no way the subs could fly over the seats, maybe go up through the back window.

you hit something hard enough, they will go right thru the seats.

ok heres my thought on this matter. how about u put 1 screw on each corner of the bottem of ur box. then wrap sum rope or something around it then secure it to the baby seat securers that right behind the back seats. the box will be somewhat more secured than it is now and the rope will be out of sight because it will be underneath the box.

my box is kind of long and it fits under the sides of the hatch/cargo area just right so it doesnt slide at all, not to mention its pretty heavy too.

The rop idea might work ;o and yeah I thought about building a box that would fit like perfectly in there but I was trying to conserve what little trunk space I have left.

You could use velcro (just go buy the some heavy-duty rolls at Home Depot since you don't want to drill), but the cargo mat that it rests on will still move. Whatever method you use, be sure to secure the cargo mat.

Think if I were to velcro the subs to the cargo mat, then tie the cargo mat somehow to the tiedowns in the back, would that work. Not sure what to use thats strong enough, but wouldnt rip the carpet, hrm :/

lock blocks?

or what about adding some small feet to the bottom of your box then putting some rubber on them so they wont slide?
